Oh, Florence.
Italy has always been very close to my heart and I have been lucky enough to travel a lot of it. Yet, I hadn’t been to Florence until this year.
I wasn’t expecting to love it so much. I kept walking around feeling like I had a special pair of glasses on, that I was in a graded movie — the colours were mesmerising, and the palette was an immediate comfort to me.
I stumbled across this beautiful quote from a writer today and he said the same thing! It’s extremely hard to not feel the warmth of the Florence palette, and it’s no wonder it has enchanted many artists.
How has this inspired me? I am going to pick up my marbling inks and experiment over this coming weekend. I’ve been in quite a lot of grief over the last few days (I am pretty sure the impending full moon isn’t helping) but I am allowing it. I will focus my attention back to ME and work through this discomfort by playing with creative tools or journalling.
